City of Hermitage The City of Hermitage is seeking a Collection System Operator in the Water Pollution Control Department. This position monitors control panels and adjusts valves, operates auxiliary apparatus connected with the collection system and pump stations; operates high pressure water cleaning equipment; diagnoses problems with machinery, equipment or collection facilities, maintains machines and equipment; installs new or repaired parts, cleans and lubricates parts of machinery, pumps and pump power units and maintains logs of operations. Qualifications include an associates degree, minimum three years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience and knowledge of the principles and practices of wastewater treatment operations and equipment maintenance. The successful candidate must possess a valid PA drivers license CDL, Class B and a PA DEP Class E, Subclassification wastewater collection license or obtain such license within one year of appointment (the city will assist with obtaining this license). Starting hourly wage is $29.36, increasing to $31.30 after one year and then two wage increases per year for the following two years.
