Position Highlights

This is an exciting opportunity to provide administrative support to the College of Medicine's Department of Orthopedic Surgery. This position will support the department's research and clinical faculty and and assist with the routine day-to-day activities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and possess a professional demeanor. Also, the incumbent should be able to maintain sensitivity with confidential information, and possess computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provides general administrative duties including front desk coverage, triaging of phones and mail, ordering supplies for Department.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to students, faculty and administrators as needed for copies, researching and editing and exchange of information.
  • Provides meeting/calendar organization and coordination for faculty and staff.
  • Provide cross coverage for existing administrative staff.
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding. Assists with preparing and organizing paperwork, updating records, maintaining checklists, and communicating basic information to employees and staff.
  • Assist with coordinating meetings and securing venues for meetings and other duties similar in nature.
  • Attend meetings and take notes. Cascade meeting notes to attendees and create and follow up on actionable items.
  • Submit/process travel arrangements and reimbursements and assisting with PCard processing. (Both University and Banner reimbursements process).
  • Coordinating amongst research and clinical faculty and overlapping project and scheduling coordination.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required.

  • Prior administrative experience is preferred, but not required.
