Plans, designs, evaluates, and administers employee compensation programs such as salaries, short- and long-term incentives, job evaluations, performance appraisals, and pay-for-performance structures.

The Senior Compensation Analyst requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in the compensation discipline and foundational knowledge of related disciplines. This role solves complex problems and works independently, receiving minimal guidance. The Senior Compensation Analyst may lead projects or project steps within a broader project, may have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives, and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Conducts comprehensive market pricing and salary surveys to ensure competitive pay.
  • Develops and administers job evaluation processes, creates job descriptions, and identifies opportunities to enhance consistency.
  • Employs data-driven insights to evaluate compensation program effectiveness, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to ensure program alignment with employee needs and business goals.
  • Manages and participates in compensation projects, initiatives, and program redesigns, ensuring they meet strategic objectives and comply with relevant standards.
  • Collaborates with HR teams and external partners to design and implement communication strategies, ensuring employees understand the value and details of compensation programs.
  • Supports the annual compensation review cycle, including salary, bonus, and incentive payouts, ensuring data accuracy and process compliance.
  • Prepares and presents reports, executive summaries, and analysis to inform senior management's decision-making on compensation and organizational planning.
  • Partners with HR Partners, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to develop compensation frameworks and support their implementation.
  • Designs and administers short-term incentive plans and contributes to the management of other incentive plans to broaden understanding.
  • Develops, delivers, and continuously updates training and educational materials on compensation programs, policies, and legal compliance to ensure understanding and adherence across the organization.
  • Ensures compliance through site and global audits related to compensation, and monitors risks associated with program activities.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and mentor, providing guidance and oversight to junior team members and handling complex or escalated compensation-related inquiries.
  • Researches industry trends, market practices, and regulatory updates to keep compensation strategies current, compliant, and competitive.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.



Your qualifications

Required:



  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in a compensation role.
  • In-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in the compensation discipline and foundational knowledge of related disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and work independently, receiving minimal guidance.
  • Experience leading projects or project steps within a broader project, or accountability for ongoing activities or objectives.
  • Ability to act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel, and HRIS or compensation administration systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Discretion in handling confidential employee and compensation information.



Preferred:



  • CCP certification an asset.
