This position description is designed to outline the primary duties of the role, qualifications, and job scope. Just as we do not want our customers to be limited in the outdoor space, we do not want to limit our employees nor the organization to just the work that is identified. Position Summary:

Working independently and collaboratively with others, this position plays an integral role in executing our mission, philosophy, and commitment to providing high quality products and exceptional customer service to our internal and external customers. In addition to maintaining a high level of trust, integrity and ethical standards, all employees are also expected to promote a culture of safety by following all safety procedures, protocols and guidelines while working in a manner that minimizes the risk of damage to property and injury to the employee and others.

Under general supervision, facilitates quality verification of products and processing of non-conforming material. Documents and tracks progress of internal and external non-conformance and quality reporting.

Essential Functions:

The essential functions of this position require prioritizing and completing all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner, adjusting for changing priorities and availability of resources, and demonstrating initiative in identifying additional job-related tasks to be completed when time permits.

  1. Performs inspection of received products per Quality Plan.
  2. Verifies and supports dispositions of nonconforming materials. This includes ensuring the integrity of the quality data input in the Nonconforming Material Report database. Interface with internal personnel may be required in the performance of these activities.
  3. Collects quality data.
  4. Participates in problem solving activities using data analysis, as well as effective cross-functional problem-solving skills.
  5. Demonstrates a clear understanding of the appropriate revision of ANSI Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing methodologies in reading and interpreting part print.
  6. Must be technically competent to perform the following inspection procedures: Uses hand gauging techniques for mechanical verification of dimensions, and other features of parts & material, visually inspects material using standard industry techniques.
  7. Determines the correct choice of verification techniques and equipment for the task in question.
  8. Serve as a role model demonstrating responsible and efficient time management, commitment to exceeding quality and productivity expectations, professional and respectful communication, and safe work habits.
  9. Communicate in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner with all employees, customers, vendors, visitors and others with whom we may work or interact. Contribute to a successful work group through positive interactions, active listening, meaningful collaborations, and the constructive exchange of ideas designed to meet or exceed the organization's strategic goals.

Availability Requirements:

Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions of this position, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers, and the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility, and presence on-site.

Approximately 40 hours / week may be required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position, including presence at designated internal and external meetings. This position may also require availability and accessibility to respond to and address emergencies and critical situations outside of normal business operating hours in the early mornings, evenings and/or during weekends. Overtime may be scheduled and required to meet departmental needs.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Blueprint and gauge reading experience required.
  • Prefer previous production experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • May be continuously standing, repetitively grasping and repetitively using fine manipulation with the hands.
  • May be frequently required to walk, bend, squat or twist as well as repetitively push or pull.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify weld defects and discontinuities.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Strong oral and written communication skills commensurate with the job tasks and position necessary to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external customers while providing exceptional quality of work and outstanding customer service. Ability to present information in a manner designed to educate or inform other team members and customers in one-on-one or group interactions as directed.
  2. Ability to review, comprehend, interpret, process and evaluate written work instructions, documents and procedures written in English. Ability to utilize prints, specs and diagrams, and tool gauges, measuring devices and inspection tools in conjunction with the performance of the essential functions and other assigned job duties. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of measurement methods, with ability to facilitate cross-functional activities.
  3. Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills including ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a calm, rational and respectful demeanor and communication style in times of stress occasioned by work demands, tight timelines, heavy production expectations, unexpected quality control issues, and other work-related issues or concerns that may cause a heightened level of anxiety, frustration, anger, disappointment, confusion, etc.
  4. Enthusiastic adoption and consistent demonstration of Warn Industries' Core Values.
  5. Strong technical, trouble-shooting, problem solving, research, organizational and analytical skills, combined with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines. Ability to multitask is also essential while remaining flexible with changing priorities and deadlines.
  6. Well-reasoned decision making with a high attention to detail regarding organization, planning, work flow, and project prioritization to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

  1. Receive, understand, evaluate and appropriately respond to communications from employees, members of management, customers, vendors, and visitors using available technology, in person and in a public setting when necessary.
  2. Must possess good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. May work for extended periods of time in a stationary position daily while performing essential functions of position that may include repetitive grasping, moving, and manipulating parts, tools, fixtures, equipment and product.
  3. Maintain professional and respectful communication style to ensure reactions and responses to both emergency and non-emergency situations serve as an example to others of appropriate workplace communications.
  4. Provide intellectually sound and well-reasoned answers, recommendations and solutions to identified business problems, issues and/or questions. Efficiently and quickly analyze, process, manipulate, and accurately record extensive amounts of data (much of which is technical in nature) and other information that serves as the basis for this position.
  5. Move to, from and within the designated work area frequently and consistently throughout the work day and regularly throughout our building and/or across Warn-related property site locations, possibly during inclement weather.
  6. Use a personal computer or other technology devices frequently and consistently for the purpose of reviewing, analyzing, creating, transmitting, and presenting documents, data and other business-related information.
  7. Lift, transport and/or move 50 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance, in the performance of regular duties as outlined above. May required occasional lifting overhead. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing and descending a stepladder may also be required.

Environment/Atmospheric Conditions:

The work environment conditions described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. This position's job duties are performed both in a shop/ warehouse type environment and in an office environment. Team members in this position may be exposed to loud noises from operating machinery, cold/hot temperatures, chemicals and vapors, and possibly injury associated with work involving manufactured parts, assembly and heavy machinery. Office environment exposure may include traditional office lighting and office furniture, as well as consistent and frequent noise, interruptions and other similar distractions.

Machines, Tools, Equipment, Software:

Personal computer, fax machine, copy machine, other office equipment, Microsoft Office, inspection equipment and tools. May minimally operate shop equipment such as assembly presses, manual and CNC machines, basic hand tools.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence at the highest levels in the English language. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other team members. Advanced conflict resolution skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.

Mathematical Skills:

Must have mathematical skills equivalent to those required under degree requirements. Higher skills may be required depending on actual job duties.

Physical and Visual Activities:

Standing, Walking, Sitting, Lifting, Carrying, Balancing, Stooping, Reaching, Handling, Feeling, Acuity-Far, Acuity-Near, Depth Perception, and Field of Vision.

Physical Demands:

May require a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. May require lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance.
