Job Description

Associate Sales Executive - Reuters Connect

This hybrid position is based in New York City

Looking to grow your media sales career with one of the world's most trusted and respected news and media organisations? Like the sound of selling archive images and videos to a host of Reuters' global clients across the Americas? This might just be the role for you.

The Reuters Connect team is looking for a Associate Sales Executive to sell archive video and images to clients across the Americas. For us, "archive" means anything older than 48 hours - so you might find yourself selling footage from the White House last week, or video dating back to 1913 (and everything in between). We work with news and media outlets, publishing companies, and high-profile documentary filmmakers and production companies to help them find the material they need to create great content.

This is a great role for someone who's interested in current and historical affairs and wants to grow their media sales career with one of the world's most trusted news and media brands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell Reuters and Reuters partners' picture and video content to clients across media, advertising, and entertainment industries.

  • Respond to client enquiries promptly, providing quotes and timely delivery of archive video and picture content.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of Reuters archive video and picture content, including metadata, licensing, and usage rights.

  • Collaborate closely with the wider sales team to identify new business opportunities and negotiate sales agreements.

  • Proactively research and identify new business opportunities, including new clients and markets, to grow sales and revenue.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, understanding their needs to tailor sales approaches and recommendations.

  • Manage client expectations and resolve issues as they arise.

  • Stay up to date with new partner content, market trends, and industry developments to provide expert advice to clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 years' demonstrable experience in a media or media sales setting, with knowledge of industry trends.

  • Solid knowledge of the media market.

  • A passion for news and journalism and a keen awareness of current and historical affairs - you could be researching material from five days ago or from 1895.

  • A great eye for detail and a methodical approach to managing projects, with the ability to assess the quality and relevance of information to clients' needs.

  • Good commercial acumen, with the ability to understand why different parties might be interested in the contents of our archive.

  • A collaborative mindset and a desire to grow your media sales career with one of the world's most recognisable brands.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional languages, ideally Spanish or Portuguese, given our client base across the Americas.

  • Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems.

  • Experience with licensing platforms.
