ABOUT NORTHWEST PHYSICIANS GROUP

Northwest Physicians Group formed in 2013 with a focus towardpopulation health management. The group has grown to a network of over 40 providers serving patients at numerous primary, specialty and urgent care locations in Amarillo, Texas. Northwest Physicians Group is affiliated with Northwest Texas Healthcare System, a 495-bed system acute care hospital that serves approximately 650,000 residents of the Texas Panhandle and surrounding region. The system provides acute care services including: cardiac, pediatric, women's, emergency, surgical and behavioral healthcare.

Independence Physician Management (IPM), a subsidiary of UHS, was formed in 2012 as the physician services unit of UHS. IPM develops and manages multi-specialty physician networks and urgent care clinics which align with UHS acute care facilities. It also provides select services for the Behavioral Health division of UHS. Through continuing growth, IPM operates in 12 markets across six states and the District of Columbia. Our leadership team, practitioners, and teams of healthcare professionals are collectively dedicated to improving the health and wellness of people in the communities we serve.

Position: Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Specialist - FT Days

  • Responsible for all EMRs within the given market utilized by the employed physician practices
  • Evaluating new practices per established guidelines
  • Maintaining all practice EMRs in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Training all new physicians and associates
  • Developing training documentation
  • Evaluating the EMR performance of staff and developing additional training as ncessary
  • Keeping current with new features and enhancements and training staff accordingly
  • Analyzing and implementing policies and procedures governing all electronic data entry through employed physician practices
  • Implementing, training and monitoring the Meaningful Use guidelines
  • Working with physicians on a regular basis to develop better workflow

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, Licensure, Training & Travel Requirements (if applicable);

  • Associate Degree or 2 years of college, Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Minimum one to three years of related experience, three to five years of experience preferred
  • Physician Office business operation or practice management experience
  • Strong knowledge of Physician Office business practices, clinical workflows, concepts and terminology sufficient to implement or support IT applications
  • Significant experience in clinical workflow using IT Systems
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and practice management solution, computer systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures
    • Consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications
    • Analysis, design, development, of educational documentation of operational system and workflow design
    • System application implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices
  • Working knowledge of clinic operational standards and quality methods and metrics
  • Working knowledge of project management methods
  • Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency
  • Ability to communicate with patients, families, staff, physicians, support agencies, vendors and others
  • Ability to remain calm during stressful situations
  • Ability to respond to pages, telephones, and other auditory stimulation
  • Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions
  • Bending, crouching, hand/finger dexterity, kneeling, lifting/carrying (5-25 lbs), grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing and pulling, stooping, twisting, prolonged standing and/or sitting
  • Ability to work in computer literate environment
