Biomedical Equipment Technician (Level I or II)

About the Role:

Innovative Renal Care is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to support the technical operations of our dialysis clinics. This role is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of dialysis equipment, water treatment systems, and associated technical systems to help ensure safe and reliable patient care.

Biomedical Technicians work directly inside active dialysis treatment environments, partnering with clinical teams to support life-sustaining patient care. This role includes working in treatment areas and exposure to medical equipment, bloodborne pathogens, needles, cleaning chemicals, and other clinical activities.

All full-time Biomedical Technicians are required to participate in an on-call rotation and receive a weekly on-call stipend.

This position may be filled at either the Biomedical Equipment Technician I or Biomedical Equipment Technician II level based on a candidate's experience, technical qualifications, certifications, and demonstrated ability to independently support dialysis clinic operations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on dialysis equipment, water treatment systems, and associated technical systems.
• Monitor and document water treatment performance to help ensure compliance with AAMI standards through daily monitoring and routine testing.
• Maintain accurate equipment records, maintenance logs, and regulatory documentation.
• Follow established procedures for alternative water supplies and assist with emergency response activities as needed.
• Assist clinic staff with maintaining and controlling medical supply inventory.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
• Clean, disinfect, and perform maintenance on reverse osmosis (RO) systems and water distribution loops.
• Participate in required training, staff meetings, in-services, and QAPI activities.
• Provide training and in-services related to water treatment and equipment testing as appropriate.
• Assist with inventory reporting and equipment support for home dialysis programs as needed.
• Support home dialysis equipment deliveries, preventive maintenance exchanges, and inventory management activities as needed.
• Follow all infection control procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Provide on-call phone and in-person support for urgent technical needs outside normal business hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a medical and/or technical environment.
• Dialysis biomedical experience.
• Manufacturer-provided technician training or certifications.
• Factory training or certification on dialysis equipment and/or water treatment systems.
• BONENT, NANT, CBMET, or other related technical certifications.

Salary Range:$18.17 - $31.00 / hour depending on experience and qualifications
