Aquent is partnering with a leading organization dedicated to impactful communication, seeking a visionary creative to join their team. This is a unique opportunity to magnify your impact by shaping a lasting legacy through compelling visual storytelling. If you are a conceptual powerhouse with a passion for bringing complex narratives to life through animation and motion graphics, your artistic genius is precisely what our client needs to inspire and engage a broad audience.

About the Project

Our client is embarking on a high-profile, evergreen capstone video project for a federal government agency, designed to be a cornerstone of their graduation ceremonies for new recruits. This 5 to 8-minute video will be a centerpiece for graduates and their families for at least five years, demanding a visually stunning and timeless approach. The project will leverage high-impact visual storytelling, intricate motion graphics, and immersive 3D environments crafted from photographs and footage. The goal is to create an experience so engaging and visually rich that it captivates the audience and powerfully conveys the magnitude of joining the agency, distracting viewers from searching for individual faces on screen. This project calls for true artistic genius to distill the essence of the agency's mission into a breathtaking visual narrative.

This is a part-time engagement, requiring approximately 20 hours per week for a duration of 4 weeks.

Impact You'll Make

As a senior-level Conceptual Copywriter, you will be at the heart of this transformative project, granted significant creative freedom to propose groundbreaking visual and narrative concepts. Your journey will begin with a virtual kickoff, followed by an essential 1-day on-site visit to the training facility in Northern Virginia during Week 1. Here, you'll meet with instructors and the agency historian, gathering insights that will spark visually engaging ideas. Working collaboratively with a dedicated design partner and key project stakeholders, you will translate complex themes into powerful visual metaphors and descriptive script direction, crafting a narrative that resonates deeply and leaves a lasting impression on thousands of graduates and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the overarching concept and write a complete Dual-Column Audio/Visual (AV) Script.
  • Collaborate closely with a designer to develop scene-by-scene storyboards and detailed page descriptions, meticulously mapping out the visual journey, camera movements (e.g., 3D photo environments), and motion graphic treatments.
  • Formulate narrative voiceover copy that expertly balances a fast-paced, visually engaging open with a meaningful exploration of the training experience and the future mission of graduates.
  • Obtain sign-off from key stakeholders on the final AV script, ensuring alignment with project goals and vision.

What You'll Bring

We are seeking an exceptional talent with a proven track record of creative excellence.

  • Proven experience as a conceptual copywriter, ideally from ad agencies working with national brands.
  • Mandatory Portfolio Requirement: Candidates MUST submit portfolio samples that feature one or more AV scripts alongside the corresponding finished video pieces, showcasing concept execution using heavy motion graphics and animation.
  • Extensive expertise in writing for video execution, specifically with motion graphics, 3D animated environments, and graphic-heavy video productions.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex themes into engaging visual metaphors and provide clear, descriptive script direction.
  • Must reside on the East Coast and be willing to travel to the Washington, D.C. / Northern Virginia area for a 1-day on-site kickoff (travel expenses will be reimbursed).
  • Ability to obtain a standard visitor site access pass to a government agency site (no formal security clearance required). The client will manage the site visit application process.
