Military Flight Controls Division Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace's Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division's JetPipe electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. Headquartered in Irvine, California, the Military Flight Controls Division is the global leader in fly-by-wire flight control systems and electrohydraulic products and offers the world's most advanced motor design capabilities for flight controls.

SUMMARY:

Determines cost of moderately complex products (e.g. top-level assemblies), and services by collecting historic and estimated operational data to provide cost information necessary for preparation and negotiation of proposals.

Develops cost proposal rationale, cost breakdowns, and supporting data by determining the information required by the company and the customer.

Identifies factors required to provide cost and price information data. Provides analyses of cost data as required for management to make informed business decisions. Analyzes moderately complex cost data to determine projected profits or potential losses.

Identifies and resolves pricing and estimating issues to ensure accurate information is provided for proposals.

Ensures compliance with federal, state and other related pricing laws, regulations and guidelines to minimize legal and financial exposure.

Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing moderately complex information and trends for products and services (e.g. top-level assemblies).

Guides cost analysis process by providing information on trends and forecasts, explaining processes and techniques, and recommending actions.

Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses. Analyzes proposed changes in methods and materials.

Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing target costs to actual production costs.

Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.

Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

Applies continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing networks, and/or participating in professional associations.

Shares specialized estimating, pricing, and accounting knowledge with others. Represents organization on projects outside the pricing team. Mentors new employees. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Work assignments may include cross-functional or project team responsibilities (e.g. continuous improvement).

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree (BA) in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through two or more years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of accounting principles, methods, and concepts, including Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and/or Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and policies. General knowledge and ability to apply continuous improvement techniques to work area. Proficient with automated estimating, pricing, and accounting systems, spreadsheet and database applications, and standard business applications software. Ability to read, analyze, organize, and interpret moderately complex estimates, price proposals, and financial reports. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions by drawing on experience with similar situations. Ability to effectively communicate and present information to team members, team leaders, and top management. Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal-setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $70890 to $117300 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
