Position Title: CNC Set Up Machinist
Wage: $25.00-$32.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: Monday-Thursday 6:00am-3:00pm, Friday 6:00am-12:00pm Bring your precision machining skills to a growing manufacturing company in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where experienced machinists are valued for their craftsmanship, accuracy, and attention to detail. You'll produce high-precision components using CNC turning and milling equipment in a professional, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. Don't miss this direct hire opportunity on 1st shift. CNC Set Up Machinist Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Set up and operate CNC turning and milling machines to produce precision components - Select and verify appropriate tooling and fixtures for machine setups - Adjust tool and work offsets as needed - Make program edits to improve efficiency, productivity, and part quality - Read and interpret blueprints, customer specifications, shop travelers, quality standards, and bills of material - Monitor, inspect, and document part quality according to print and production requirements - Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial bore gauges, and other hand measuring instruments - Apply basic working knowledge of G and M codes - Maintain proper machine fluid levels and perform minor machine maintenance - Keep machines and work areas clean, organized, and safe - Work independently while communicating effectively and collaborating with the team - Maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and workmanship CNC Set Up Machinist Requirements: - High school diploma or GED - Minimum 3 years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines - Experience with Fanuc controls preferred - Auto bar feeder experience is a plus - Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation - Basic knowledge of G and M codes - Proficiency using precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, dial bore gauges, other precision inspection equipment - Ability to edit CNC programs as needed - Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality - Effective communication and teamwork skills - Dependable, positive, and solutions-focused approach - Will be tested on measurement and inspection skills during the interview IND022 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
