Position Title: Maintenance Technician II
Wage: $64,480.00-$72,800.00/year We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II / Machine Repair Technician to support the efficient operation and reliability of manufacturing equipment. This position performs mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, as well as preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, equipment overhauls, and machine repair. This is a direct hire opportunity in Manitowoc, WI. Maintenance Technician II Responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and overhaul industrial manufacturing machinery and equipment - Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs on production equipment - Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime - Troubleshoot equipment issues and identify root causes of mechanical failures - Read and interpret machine drawings, blueprints, schematics, part lists, specifications, and technical documentation - Plan, lay out, and complete machine repair work independently - Operate and maintain equipment used in machine repair and maintenance - Reproduce, fabricate, or repair machine parts, holders, attachments, and components to required tolerances - Operate lathes, milling machines, drill presses, welders, and other machine shop equipment - Work with and maintain mechanical components, including bearings, seals, clutches, pumps, gears, shafts, and related machine components - Understand the interaction between mechanical systems and electrical controls - Use computer systems and software to record maintenance information, access prints and specifications, create labels, and maintain equipment documentation - Maintain accurate records of machine repair parts, inventory, part numbers, and equipment information - Assist with equipment improvements and continuous improvement initiatives - Work closely with maintenance, production, and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues - Participate in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and team-based projects - Provide guidance or direction to less experienced Maintenance Technician II Requirements: - High school diploma or GED - 4 years of formal trades trading or equivalent preferred - Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills - Sound decision making skills - High mechanical aptitude - Able to work independently and show initiative - Good math, reading, and writing skills - Basic computer skills - Vision: Near acuity and accommodation for reading information to perform job tasks - Constant alertness to surroundings and product quality with attention to detail - Must be able to read blueprints - Exert 31 to 100 pounds of force occasionally - Exert 11 to 30 pounds of force frequently - Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects - Lifting restrictions: 30-35 pounds max for single person lift - Ability to work well in a team environment - Must successfully complete pre-employment screening - High noise levels from operating machines and equipment - Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels - Work in areas where safety equipment will be required (steel-toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection) - Stand for extended periods of time - Walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting is performed on a regular basis - High degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions - Flexible hours and short notice for overtime QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
