Manager Rail Bike Operations GSSE

Lead people, run a safe operation, and deliver an outstanding guest experience at Granite State Scenic Railway.

We're looking for a hands-on Rail Bike Manager to lead and develop our team, champion safe and reliable daily operations, drive business results, and ensure every guest receives an exceptional experience. This role is responsible for the overall performance of the Rail Bike operation in Lincoln, NH, including safety, staffing, guest satisfaction, maintenance, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Lead, train, schedule, monitor daily attendance, ridership, and operational metrics and adjust staffing and resources as needed.
• Partner with company leadership on seasonal planning, budgeting, and operational improvements
• Run daily safety meetings and make sure everyone follows safety procedures.
• Keep the operation running smoothly, safely, and on schedule.
• At times, help guests, assist with reservation questions, and handle customer questions.
• Ensure rail bikes, facilities, and equipment are inspected, clean, maintained, and repaired in accordance with company standards and safety requirements.
• Move rail bikes when needed for operation or storage.
• Check crossings and perform safety checks.
• Communicate with staff throughout the day by radio or phone.
• Help with train operations and other railroad duties when needed.
• Jump in and help wherever you're needed-this is a hands-on leadership position.
• Ensure rail bike compliance with all company, state, and federal safety requirements.
• Investigate and document incidents, accidents, and near misses and implement corrective actions when necessary.
• Provide First Aid/CPR/AED in an emergency.

What You Bring

• Previous supervisory or management experience.
• Great communication and people skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of railroad operations, terminology, and safety is preferred.
• A positive, professional attitude and the ability to solve problems on the fly.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift and move rail bikes when needed.

The Schedule

This is a full-time salary exempt position supporting a 7-day-a-week operation. Weekend, holiday, and peak-season availability is required. Flexibility for opening, closing, and occasional extended shifts is important.
