Senior Systems Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Windows Systems Administrator to manage, monitor, and maintain Windows-based server environments hosted within Amazon Web Services (AWS).

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for supporting Windows Server infrastructure across development, test, and production environments, ensuring systems remain secure, patched, available, and operational. This position will also provide responsive technical support for server and application outages, manage PKI certificates and administrative accounts, and work closely with technical and operational users.

• Manage and maintain virtual servers hosted within AWS infrastructure.

• Administer Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019 environments.

• Perform daily monitoring of servers to ensure availability, performance, and system health.

• Monitor and support infrastructure across development, test, and production environments.

• Schedule, coordinate, execute, and review Windows Server patches and system updates.

• Troubleshoot and resolve Windows Server outages and related infrastructure issues.

• Respond to service desk tickets and provide timely resolution of technical issues.

• Troubleshoot application outages, including laboratory order-processing applications.

• Configure and troubleshoot label printers and associated system connectivity.

• Manage and renew PKI certificates.

• Maintain administrative accounts, including account renewals and password changes.

• Perform routine system administration, maintenance, and operational support activities.

• Collaborate with medical laboratory technicians and other end users to identify and resolve technical issues.

• Communicate system status, outages, maintenance activities, and technical issues to appropriate stakeholders.

• Maintain accurate technical and operational documentation.

• Support system security, availability, and reliability requirements.

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.

• Demonstrated experience administering Windows client/server environments.

• Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Windows Server 2019

  • Windows Server 2016

• Experience managing virtual servers within Amazon Web Services (AWS).

• Experience performing Windows Server patching and maintenance.

• Experience monitoring and troubleshooting server infrastructure.

• Experience supporting development, test, and production environments.

• Knowledge of PKI certificates, including certificate renewal and management.

• Experience managing privileged or administrative user accounts.

• Experience troubleshooting server, application, and connectivity issues.

• Experience working with service desk or incident-management processes.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to time-sensitive technical issues.
