This role will participate in the synthesis of hydrogels, culture of intestinal organoids, photopatterning of materials, quantitative image analysis using confocal microscopy, experimental design and statistical analysis, and will contribute to a publication related to studying mechanosensing and the influence on intestinal stem cell differentiation. The anticipated start date for this position is October 2026. Who We Are The Anseth Lab is led by Kristi Anseth, PI and Distinguished Professor in the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department. The Anseth Group specializes in the development of innovative biomaterials for engineered cell culture and tissue regeneration. Our primary focus is on decoding cell-material interactions and developing systems and techniques to investigate these processes. We influence cellular activity across timescales using engineering concepts and modeling, with targets ranging from molecular to macroscopic. To modulate responses such as proliferation, differentiation, and extracellular matrix deposition, we design well-defined biomaterial niches with programmed mechanics and bioactivity. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be Culture and maintenance of multiple primary intestinal stem cell lines. Synthesis of photoresponsive hydrogels and multiple material characterization methods. Multi-photon imaging and related quantitative analysis of images. Participation in collaborative meeting with weekly presentations and updates. Writing of reports and manuscripts. Assigned lab responsibilities and training of users related to these assignments. What We Can Offer The hire rate for this temporary, part-time position is $50.00 per hour. What We Require PhD degree, and at least 2 years of postdoctoral experience in a field related to biomaterials and/or stem cells. What We Would Like You to Have Experience is particularly valued in hydrogels, intestinal organoids, and advanced light microcopy.
