The County Administrative Assistant is a member of the staff of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension (
NCCE). The County Administrative Assistant's primary responsibility is to provide support to the County Extension Director and other staff as assigned. The County Administrative Assistant cooperates with colleagues in the
NCCE and county departments in performing assigned responsibilities. The performance of assigned responsibility is governed by the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the
NCCE. |

| Duties and Responsibilities |
The County Administrative Assistant serves as the primary administrative and fiscal support position for a Cooperative Extension office. This role provides direct support to the County Extension Director and staff while ensuring efficient office operations, sound financial management, and compliance with county, state, and university policies. |
| Other Work/Responsibilities |
The County Administrative Assistant position provides office support and leadership, under supervision, to the Extension staff and does related work as required to support programmatic needs in a variety of areas.
The successful candidate will assist with and monitor the budget, pay bills, maintain records, create educational materials, and upkeep the county extension website and social media sites. This position provides administrative support for the County Extension Director. Major responsibilities include answering the phones and directing calls to the correct personnel or staff member, and to assist walk-in clients by directing them to the proper staff member to assist them as well.
This position will also hold a seat on the county Safety Committee/or serve on at least one county wide committee. |
