Position Summary
The Research Coordinator/Lab Manager coordinates and manages research operations for the Social Psychology of Research Experiences & Education ( SPREE) Lab under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), Dr. Erin Dolan. This position is responsible for ongoing projects including multiple intervention studies aimed at improving mentoring relationships between life science graduate students and their faculty research advisors.
Primary responsibilities include recruitment, screening, tracking, data collection, and analysis for research involves human participants. This individual will maintain and organize detailed study records and datasets and support the organization and implementation of other research projects in the lab. Additional duties and opportunities may include facilitating components of intervention programs and contributing to grant writing and publications.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Knowledge of quantitative educational, psychological, or social science research methodologies.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple research projects, priorities, timelines, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., R, SPSS) and quantitative data management techniques.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret research data and communicate findings through reports, presentations, and other research products.
  • Project management, organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to evaluate research procedures, identify challenges, and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop research procedures, train others, and provide technical guidance on research methods and protocols.
  • Knowledge of human subjects research requirements and research compliance standards.

  • Coordinate participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, retention, and data collection activities for multiple research studies.
  • Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful study implementation and recommend improvements to recruitment and study procedures.
  • Oversee participant tracking systems, research incentives, and study documentation to ensure accurate recordkeeping and project compliance.
  • Manage gift card budgets and oversee the distribution, tracking, and reconciliation of gift card payments for human subjects research participants.

  • Manage research datasets through data validation, cleaning, integration, and quality assurance processes.
  • Conduct quantitative analyses using statistical software and interpret findings to identify trends and inform research objectives.
