Material Handler/Expeditor

Monitor the flow of materials, components, tooling, and paperwork between departments to conform to production schedules. To confer with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and customers to eliminate difficulties and delays. To facilitate rush orders, prepare process reports (verbally or written) and notify the appropriate personnel of major issue. To issue parts to jobs and/or cut material to size on saws.

Essential Job Functions:

• Maximize efficiency by moving finished goods out of the work centers to the next operation and expedite where necessary.
• Communicate with appropriate personnel in the department any material issues that may arise that would affect promised delivery dates.
• Analyze and problem solve on a daily basis
• Operate Forklift and pallet jack as required
• Read and process work instructions provided per job or part
• Serve as a backup for deliveries and pickups from the customer and vendors as necessary.

• Customer facing role supporting customer information requests and status meetings as appropriate
• Measure materials with tape measure and convert fractions to decimals.
• Run Vertical and Horizontal Saw to cut parts to specific job dimensions.

Additional Duties:

• Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.
• Other duties, reporting, special assignments, or projects as needed and assigned.
• Must remain current with, and complete all required training as assigned.
• Must adhere to Company Corporate EHS Policy and department, occupation, and task specific safety protocols, including but not limited to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
• Highly organized and able to prioritize and execute a high volume of tasks while paying close attention to detail.

• Ability to read Tape measure and convert Fractions to Decimals.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels of the organization.

• Proficient in the use of computer skills (ERP System (Vantage and/or E-10 preferred), MS Word, Excel etc.)
• Strong communication skills
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Mechanical aptitude - preferred
• Knowledge of Outside Processing - preferred
• Valid driver's license and proof of insurability
• This position may require physical activity to include handling of objects up to 40 pounds. Anything above this weight limit will require the use of the proper equipment outlined during OTJ and workplace safety training. Physical activity may also include long periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
• Must submit to and satisfactorily pass any pre-employment screening required for employment with the Company.
• Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results.
• Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies.
• May be required to perform manual lifting activities, not to exceed a 40lb lift performed by one individual.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED
