Brief Summary of Work for this Position
The Administrative Associate provides comprehensive administrative and technical support to the Dean's Suite within the Cameron School of Business ( CSB). This position reports to the Assistant Dean of Administration and Resource Management and serves as a key member of the CSB business team.
The Administrative Associate serves as a primary point of contact for the Cameron School of Business, providing information, assistance, and customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other CSB and UNCW units. The position is responsible for a variety of administrative and financial support functions, including purchasing, maintaining departmental supplies, coordinating large mailings, reconciling budgets, managing and tracking CSB software licenses, entering travel authorizations and reimbursements, processing scholarships, and serving as the CSB leave keeper.
This position also provides administrative support to the CSB business team with faculty supplemental pay ( FLAC), human resources processes, budget-related activities, and other administrative needs. The Administrative Associate works closely with CSB academic departments to assist with the coordination and logistics of programs and events such as Business Week, CEN, WITX, and other school-wide initiatives. Additional responsibilities may include supporting travel arrangements, purchasing activities, event logistics, and other administrative projects as needed.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and service-oriented, with strong communication and customer service skills. The position requires professional telephone and in-person etiquette, the ability to interact positively with a wide range of constituents, and a willingness to assist with occasional cross-campus errands and time-sensitive administrative needs. The successful candidate will bring a positive, collaborative attitude and take pride in creating a welcoming and professional experience for visitors to the Dean's Suite.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

  • Experience providing administrative support in a higher education or professional office environment.
  • Experience with purchasing, budget reconciliation, travel, or other financial/administrative processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
