JOB SUMMARY
The Revenue Cycle Project Manager leads system-level projects and process improvement initiatives to optimize revenue cycle performance, financial outcomes, and operational efficiencies. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders across clinical, operational, and IT teams to deliver projects on scope, on time, and within budget.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required

• Education
  Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Information Technology, or a related field
  Advanced degree may be used in lieu of years of experience on a year for year basis.

  5 years in healthcare revenue cycle management and project management
  Experience with Epic revenue cycle modules and IT-driven solutions
  

• Licenses and Certifications
  (PMP) Project Management Prof Cert or ability to obtain within 1 Year

  3 years managing technology related projects or consulting
  Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies
  Knowledge of healthcare payer requirements, denials management, and regulatory compliance

JOB DUTIES

• The Revenue Cycle Project Manager leads the day-to-day coordination and delivery of UT Southwestern's Revenue Cycle Automation Program, serving as the primary liaison among operational leaders, internal developers, and external automation partners, including Tarpon. This role manages opportunity intake, partners with operational and technical teams to assess automation candidates and works with leadership to maintain a prioritized automation roadmap. Responsibilities include educating stakeholders on automation capabilities, clarifying business needs and expected outcomes, managing the consultant relationship and resource utilization, and coordinating projects through an Agile/Scrum-based process-from initial evaluation through testing, implementation, operational acceptance, and formal closure.
• Success requires exceptional communication, strong process improvement discipline, and a thorough understanding of professional billing (PB) and hospital billing (HB) within large, complex health systems. The ideal candidate can recognize promising automation opportunities, identify when a process needs improvement before automation, and maintain alignment between operational priorities and development work. Working familiarity with platforms such as Epic, UiPath, and Microsoft Fabric/Foundry, along with a general understanding of traditional and agentic automation, is needed to understand developer explanations, ask informed questions, and communicate implications clearly to operational leaders. This individual maintains visibility into project status, risks, dependencies, and decisions while ensuring accountability and timely resolution across teams.
