Human Resources Benefits Specialist - Position and Responsibilities
As a Human Resources Benefits Specialist with Middough, you will collaborate with the corporate Human Resources team across all office locations. This role supports benefits administration, HRIS data entry and reporting, personnel and I-9 file management, first-level employee HR inquiries, and general HR administration. The Human Resources Benefits Specialist will also assist with new-hire orientation/onboarding and employee offboarding. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Collaborate with the benefits team to process new-hire benefit enrollments, support the annual open enrollment process, and assist with employee benefit related tasks and procedures.
  • Process employee changes-including employment status, compensation, and personal information-in the HRIS system accurately and on time.
  • Maintain and audit personnel and I-9 files and support the recruiting team with new hire administration.
  • Assist with coordinating company programs and events.
  • Provide responsive, professional service to employees and managers regarding general HR inquiries.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing email, faxes, document scanning, and other benefit/HR administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with corporate functions and business units on shared initiatives as a member of the corporate HR team.
  • Perform other HR administrative duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
  • SHRM-CP certification is preferred.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in benefits and/or HR administration and HRIS data entry, preferably in a professional, technical, or consulting environment.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Professional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
  • A high degree of integrity and a commitment to following company policies and HR procedures.
  • Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, along with analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

  • May require occasional car or air travel to other company locations or client sites.
  • This position requires the candidate/employee to possess and maintain a valid driver's license in their state of residence and auto insurance coverage.
