The Construction Monitoring Specialist, SR works under the direction of the Credit Division and is responsible for monitoring the construction phase of assigned commercial construction loans. The Construction Monitoring Specialist, SR will work with Commercial Relationship Managers, Commercial Support, Borrowers, title companies, attorneys, contractors, and others to ensure that all information required to make a construction draw is provided and ensures that any issues have been mitigated prior to approving draws.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $52,800/yr - $103,500/yr plus bonus. The base salary indicated for this position reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on a number of factors, including the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate's relevant skills and professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.

We are an in-office culture and have locations throughout the midwest and mid south.

Key Accountabilities

Construction Management

The Construction Monitoring Specialist, SR will be responsible for a portfolio of construction loans that are in various stages of construction. The Specialist must be able to prioritize each of the projects and ensure that draw requests are executed timely while making sure that any and all risks have been mitigated.

• Work closely with Commercial Relationship Managers and Commercial Support Staff on newly approved commercial construction loans to ensure that all required construction documentation is received, reviewed, and approved prior to closing. The Construction Monitoring Specialist, SR will also facilitate the initial funding of construction loans with the Commercial Support Staff, Relationship Managers, Borrowers, title companies, etc.

• Facilitate the funding of draws on Commercial Construction loans. The Construction Monitoring Specialist, SR must ensure that each draw is following loan policy and regulatory requirements. The draws must be in alignment with the budget and expected percent of completion. The Construction Monitoring Specialist, SR must think critically to work through and solve problems as they arise.

Communication and Support

• Serve as a Commercial Construction Policy expert to provide guidance to Commercial Relationship Managers and Commercial Support Staff during the origination process on policy, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.

• Proactively works with Commercial Relationship Managers and Commercial Support staff to find solutions to when construction issues arise.

• Communicates directly with clients, title companies, attorneys, contractors, etc. when construction issues arise. Communication may also occur during the origination phase where outside parties need to understand our process or have questions.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Associates degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience.

• Minimum three (3) years in commercial banking.

• Highly detail oriented, thorough, and ability to think critically with limited oversight.

• Refined verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to meet strict deadlines.

• Ability to handle multiple and complex projects in various stages of construction.
