Senior Hydrogeologist

Our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join the team. In this role, you will bring your expertise to aid interactions with regulatory agencies and stakeholders, help gather data during site visits, and stay updated on environmental regulations. You will have the opportunity to perform and lead environmental analyses in support of nuclear environmental licensing projects nationwide. This position can be based in the following locations:

As a Senior Hydrogeologist, you'll conduct comprehensive reviews to assess the impact of nuclear facilities on water resources as well as prepare detailed reports, and support licensing applications. Your role will also involve developing

protection measures, presenting complex information, and occasional travel.

• Environmental Impact Assessment & Compliance: Conduct environmental reviews to assess the potential impact of existing commercial nuclear facilities on water resources. Prepare environmental reports in accordance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) regulations, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and other applicable regulatory guidelines. Reports include descriptions of how compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to groundwater management, water quality protection, and environmental permitting is demonstrated. Support environmental licensing applications for the NRC. Stay current on relevant environmental regulations and best practices
• Data Collection & Site Evaluation: Participate in site visits to gather environmental data and assess potential environmental impacts. Support the development of technical content (text, gures, tables) for environmental reports and site feasibility assessments
• Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Interact with internal stakeholders, the client, and the NRC regarding environmental impacts of nuclear facility operations. Prepare presentations and reports to communicate complex environmental information to technical and non-technical audiences
• Fieldwork & Environmental Protection: Assist in the development and implementation of environmental protection measures

• Bachelor's Degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred
• Must have 6-15 years of hydrogeology experience
• Experience working with federal and/or state regulatory agencies is required
• Experience developing technical environmental reports and supportung regulatory reviews is required
• Must have excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and people skills
• Be proficient in hydrogeologic principles to include characterization, assessments and monitoring
• Ability to travel/work in the field 5% of the time, with typical travel durations of 3-4 days (office work is typically 95% of the time for this position; fieldwork can include site visits, meetings with clients, and applicable regulatory agencies)
