Field Service Team leader- Grid Automation

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Team Leader to support the Grid Automation business across North America. In this role, you will manage and develop a team of Service Engineers while overseeing the delivery of field service, commissioning support, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, modernization, and customer support activities. You will play an important role in ensuring power system automation and communication solutions perform safely, reliably, and efficiently for utility, industrial, and infrastructure customers. Working closely with customers, service personnel, sales teams, and operational stakeholders, you will balance technical execution, resource planning, financial performance, and customer satisfaction. This position offers the opportunity to shape service delivery strategies, support the evolution of critical grid technologies, and contribute to the reliability and modernization of the power network while helping teams grow professionally and operationally.

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of Service Engineers and support personnel across field service activities.
• Oversee day-to-day service operations to deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective solutions.
• Plan and coordinate field service, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modernization activities.
• Allocate resources effectively to support customer commitments and operational priorities.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive operational excellence initiatives across the service organization.
• Support customer meetings, escalation management, and strategic account engagements.
• Partner with Sales to identify new service opportunities and strengthen customer relationships.
• Promote continuous improvement through service performance reviews, customer feedback, and key performance indicators.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading or managing a service-related organization.
• Experience with automation, protection, control, communications, or similar technical systems.
• Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong financial and business acumen, including experience with P&L responsibility.
• Excellent customer relationship management and communication skills.
• Experience supporting field service organizations, technical teams, or customer-facing operations.
• Knowledge of safety, compliance, and quality standards within industrial or utility environments.
