SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

It is the responsibility of the Loan Booking Specialist to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position. Responsible for reviewing executed loan documentation and booking new, renewed, and modified Consumer, Commercial and Mortgage loans/lines of credit to the core servicing system. This requires knowledge of standard loan documents and of basic loan servicing. May assist with special initiatives or projects and support other areas within Loan Operations as needed; ensures compliance with SouthState Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other operating procedures and policies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Review and interpret executed, critical loan documents that provide terms and conditions for ongoing management of the loan, processing related payments, disbursements, critical dates, and payoff criteria.

  • Accurately book/board new, renewed, and modified Consumer, Commercial and Mortgage loans/lines of credit to the core.

  • Ensure required documents are provided and in compliance with bank policies and federal and state regulations.

  • Reviews and book loans within the established production timelines to ensure that all departmental goals and SLAs are met or exceeded.

  • Responds timely to all inquiries from customers, Lenders/LOAs, and other bank personnel.

  • Establish positive working relationships with team members and others across the organization.

  • Ensures compliance with SouthState Bank Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other operating policies and procedures. Completes compliance training, adheres to all anti-money laundering guidelines and procedures, and all regulatory requirements.

  • Responsible for organizational integrity and business ethics as it relates to this position.

  • Perform all other related job duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications, Education, and Certification Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years' experience in an operations role is required. Must be knowledgeable in loan servicing functions including consumer, commercial and mortgage loans. Knowledge of Federal and State regulatory items is required. Experience with Fiserv systems software is preferred.

  • Certifications/Specific Knowledge: Good interpersonal skills. Good computer skills of Microsoft Word and Excel.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/CLASSES

Required annual compliance training, New Employee Orientation; Fiserv training as needed to perform specific tasks; Laser Pro training; Encompass Training

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers. This position requires a large amount of time in front of a computer. This can be done sitting or standing with use of the right desk. This position may require bending and reaching.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

For bank office: This position is located in a cubicle environment that may be loud throughout the day.

For telecommuters or hybrid: Telecommuting roles no matter if hybrid or 100% full time telecommuting must have a secure home office environment that is free from background noise and distractions. They must also have a reliable private internet connection that is not supplied by use of cellular data (hot spot). Cable or fiber connections are preferred. Requirements are subject to change, as new systems and technology is delivered.

TRAVEL

Travel may be required to come to meetings as needed.

In accordance with Colorado and Virginia law: Pay for this position is anticipated to be between $41,094.00 - $61,641.00 , actual offers to be determined based on applicant's skills, experience and education.
