Position Summary

** WE ARE ACCEPTING WORK STUDY & NON WORK STUDY APPLICANTS FOR THIS POSITION**

The UNM IT Networks Voice Team
is seeking a responsible, detail-oriented student employee to support
telecommunications services, including voicemail, long-distance codes, and other
voice-related services. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on
experience supporting IT operations within a large and diverse University
environment while developing technical, customer service, communication, and
organizational skills.

The ideal candidate will be
self-motivated, organized, dependable, and capable of working independently
with minimal supervision. Strong communication and customer service skills are
essential, as the position involves regular interaction with students, faculty,
staff, and IT personnel across the University. The successful candidate should
be comfortable working with a diverse University population and demonstrate
professionalism when responding to requests and coordinating services.

This position requires the
student employee to work in the office a minimum of three days per week. The
position also includes physical and logistical responsibilities, including the
delivery, pickup, transportation, and inventory of IT and telecommunications
equipment. Equipment may need to be transported between various locations
throughout UNM Main Campus and the UNM Hospital.

Because this position may
involve the operation of University vehicles and transportation of IT
equipment, the selected candidate must be able to successfully complete a
UNM-required defensive driving course immediately upon hire. The candidate
should be comfortable performing physical tasks associated with moving
equipment and should be able to communicate effectively with users when
coordinating equipment deliveries and pickups.

Duties and
responsibilities include:

Processing Telecom-related tickets, including adding and removing voicemail boxes, long-distance codes, and other Telecom services.

Assisting with maintaining accurate inventory counts, organization, and tracking of IT and Telecom equipment.

Assisting with coordinating and completing the delivery and pickup of IT and Telecom equipment from users at various locations throughout UNM Main Campus and the UNM Hospital.

Assisting with the safe transportation and movement of IT and Telecom equipment between University locations, including loading, unloading, and positioning equipment as needed.

Providing professional, courteous, and timely communication with faculty, staff, students, and IT personnel while coordinating equipment deliveries, pickups, and Telecom-related services.

Assisting the Voice Team with various technical, administrative, and operational projects and tasks.

Maintaining regular in-office availability, with a minimum expectation of three days per week, to support team operations and complete assigned responsibilities.

Successfully completing and maintaining required UNM training, including the UNM defensive driving course immediately upon hire, as necessary to perform assigned transportation duties.

Other Duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.



Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Enrolled in a degree-seeking

spring semesters (Audit hours do not count); and, if Work Study, must meet
Satisfactory Academic Progress. Basic computer skills and experience using
Windows.

Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability
to provide professional customer service.

Ability to work in office a minimum
of three days per week.

Ability to successfully complete the required UNM
defensive driving course immediately upon hire. Ability to lift and safely
transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
