This position is expected to start around January 2027 and continue through the entire Spring term (endingapproximately May 2027or later, if available). We ask for a minimum of12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships. Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program.Recent graduates seeking employment after graduation and not returning to school should apply for full-time positions, not internships. International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. You must be able to work40 hours per week on-site. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year. About the team: The thermal systems software team is seeking a systems integration engineering intern who will support new development of vehicle thermal systems on all Tesla vehicles. The intern will assist with software development, integration, and validation for new vehicle features to meet Tesla's standards for safety and customer experience. Tesla thermal systems manage the temperature of critical powertrain systems like the battery, drive units, and charger. This role will focus on heating and cooling of the powertrain and vehicle cabin to deliver peak performance and efficiency. The intern will support initiatives to improve system robustness, introduce new hardware, enable new features, and refine overall performance by reviewing source code, root causing issues, and testing prototype implementations.
