The Area Manager is an important member of the manufacturing team and is responsible for ensuring that production, quality and safety goals are met.? This individual will lead a team of manufacturing and support employees and will use strong communication and leadership skills to achieve plant goals/metrics.?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:




  • Believes and advocates for continuous improvement.





  • Actively participates in Continuous Improvement program and events.





  • Manage the coordination and execution of daily standup meetings with Leads.





  • Maintain standardized visual management system within work areas to achieve targeted deliverables.





  • Drives safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment. Focuses on incident and accident reduction through identification of first aid, near misses, and behavioral based observations.





  • Reviews daily labor and customer demand requirements.





  • Ensure successful cross-training plan is executed across work areas through reviewing/updating current training matrices, SOP's, and customer quality requirements.





  • Provides hiring, on-boarding, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluations and feedback for direct reports.





  • Ensure proper transactions occur to ensure inventory accuracy.





  • Assist in planning, production, testing and inspection processes within the work area.





  • Keep Operations Leadership informed of actual or anticipated schedule problems, material shortages, tool and/or equipment problems, quality issues, safety concerns, and general housekeeping practices.





  • Provide an effective response to Quality related issues to prevent reoccurrence.





  • May perform other related duties as assigned.





  • Ensures labor and material standards in ERP system are accurate and achievable.





  • Investigates labor and material variances from ERP system and identifies root cause and corrective actions.





  • Train and maintain compliance for proper router completion.




QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/Skills/Education)




  • Good leadership, coaching, communication and training skills.





  • Minimum 2 years proven shop floor operations leadership/supervisory experience in a high-tech manufacturing environment, including Braze, Heat Treat, Welding, Machining and EDM.





  • Must possess necessary interpersonal communication skills, written, verbal and other technical skills to properly direct, assist and train personnel.





  • Working knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing concepts and techniques.





  • Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.





  • Aerospace, FAA, PMA experience preferred.





  • Microsoft Dynamics AX experience preferred.





  • Microsoft Office experience preferred.
