We are actively looking for a Structural Engineer (PE preferred) with an inspection and rehabilitation (I&R) and marine/waterfront background to join our Seattle or Federal Way, WA office.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop plans, specifications, and cost estimates as needed to support waterfront infrastructure development and rehabilitation work
  • Help resolve design problems that may include performing field investigation or inspections, detailed design work, and detailed checking of design computations done by others, or general coordination of specific design aspects into a project
  • Calculate construction quantity estimates
  • May occasionally supervise and schedule work of other team members including staff engineers and CAD designers
  • Perform analysis, design, inspection of waterfront structures, asset management, submarine systems, and other maritime projects
  • Structural analysis and design with timber, steel, concrete and composite materials
  • Develop plans, specifications, and calculations as needed
  • Work closely with other disciplines including architects, engineers, scientists, project managers, etc. on multi-discipline projects
  • Perform structural site inspections and prepare inspection reports

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred
  • 3 or more years of waterfront design experience related to ports, marinas, vessel mooring and berthing structures, breakwater and/or shore protection structures
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) required
  • Professional Registration in Washington preferred, or the ability to gain registration within 1 year
  • Prior experience of Department of Defense (DOD) projects preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD required
  • Preferred experience using:
    • SAP2000
    • STAAD
    • LPile
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Due to client requirements, selected candidate must consent to and a pass a post-offer/pre-employment drug screening
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Base salary range:

$38.00/hour to $59.00/hour based on years of experience, level of education obtained, professional registration, and meeting required qualification in job description.

Base salary range only applicable for candidates who will be hired and working in the Washington market.

Physical requirements:

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
