Academic year and summer session Application Window Open date: April 1, 2024 Next review date: Saturday, Dec 21, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Tuesday, Apr 1, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Office of Undergraduate Education tutors will serve as learning assistants for Math, Bio, Physics, Chem, ENGR and CSE in an open tutoring center format. Tutors increase course proficiency by assisting students in finding their own answers to questions and helping them learning methods to solve problems independently. Support is structured to reinforce course material, with a focus on grasping the content of courses and building student capacity to be successful in future courses. Tutors are responsible for creating an inclusive learning environment, greeting students and explaining the functions of the learning centers to new students. Staff are responsible for reviewing and understanding the Employee Handbook, attending pedagogical training events, mentoring new tutors and ensuring compliance with Center procedures.
