Duties and Responsibilities
The Department of Radiation Oncology at Loyola University Chicago ( LUC) Stritch School of Medicine in conjunction with Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital, is seeking a Radiation Oncologist at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. Applicants must be board-certified in radiation oncology, have an MD or DO degree and have successfully completed a residency training in an ACGME accredited program. The applicant will be the chief of the CNS radiotherapy service. CNS malignancies experience / expertise including but not limited to stereotactic radiosurgery and proton therapy is preferred. This position will include oversight of the clinical, educational, and research programs in collaboration with the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center multidisciplinary neuro-oncology team. The successful candidate will expand the clinical trial portfolio, including participation in NCI cooperative group trials, as well as conduct investigator-initiated trials through intramural and extramural grant funding.

Most faculty members of LUMC have joint appointments at Hines VA, and Loyola students, resident physicians, and fellows rotate through Hines VA as part of their training. Researchers from Loyola and Hines collaborate closely on many federally funded studies.
