UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring a Dental Provider for the Metropolitan Detention Center. This opportunity is PRN on-call (0.01FTE) position Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center PRN Dentist (on-call) is a clinical position that

provides dental health services to the patient population at BCMDC when needed. Reports to the

BCMDC Clinic Dental Director to provide dental care that follows the BCMDC policies and procedures.

Summary:

The University of New Mexico, Department of Dental Medicine, is seeking a PRN Staff Dentist to serve as an MDC Site Dental Provider. Providers at the MDC will serve the patient population at MDC in accordance with national standards and the McClendon Agreement.

Minimum Job Requirements of a Dental Provider:



  1. Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery or Dental Medicine
  2. Fully licensed to practice dentistry in the state of New Mexico
  3. Current DEA registration.



Duties and Responsibilities of a Dental Provider:



  • Performing Surgical and Third Molar Extractions on the level of general dentistry.
  • Working in the MDC dental clinic
  • After-hours call at MDC as needed
  • Fostering inter-professional practice collaborations
  • Providing direct clinical care
  • Modeling and upholding the educational foundation for professional behavior

    Maintaining immaculate documentation of all procedures and practices in an electronic chart
  • Perform and interpret radiographic exams as needed.
  • Provide dental treatment, including emergency treatment of the teeth and surrounding soft tissue, such as oral surgery, restorative dentistry and periodontal therapy within the scope of a general Dentistry, including extractions. Correct significant oral problems, which may adversely affect inmate's health as, deemed necessary.
  • Make proper referral for procedures, which cannot be performed at facility.
  • Report any unusual occurrences or accidents to the site or l Medical Director.
