UNM Medical Group, Inc. is hiring for a Forensic Pathologist Staff Physician to join our School of Medicine team at UNM. This is a PRN opportunity located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Summary Under indirect supervision, provides and manages direct health care for a specified patient population. Minimum Job Requirements of an Forensic Pathologist Staff Physician: Medical doctor with 3 to 5 years of directly related experience which may include residency in a directly related medical specialty. State of New Mexico and Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification; Board Certified or Board Eligible in specified area of medical specialty. About the Forensic Pathology Team with UNM School of Medicine: As a nationally accredited program with a strong educational component in The University of New Mexico School of Medicine, the Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) investigates any death occurring across the state of New Mexico that is sudden, violent, untimely, unexpected or where a person is found dead and the cause of death is unknown. The OMI, which is a special program within the Department of Pathology, determines the cause and manner of death in these cases, and provides formal death certification. OMI is currently looking for a Forensic Pathologists to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have board certification as a forensic pathologist and be currently licensed in the State of New Mexico to complete complex external and full autopsy. At the OMI we use CT scans to evaluate cases and would like a candidate that is familiar with this diagnostic process. Our ideal candidate will have a high degree of professionalism and be able to complete cases according to our NAME accreditation standards. We are looking for someone familiar with giving court testimony and deposition. We work everyday but Christmas and on-call hours will be required.
