COATINGS PROCESS ENGINEER I/II/III:

Andersen is looking for an experienced process engineer to join our exciting and rewarding Wood & Coatings Engineering team! Primary responsibilities are to drive department and enterprise key initiatives through continuous process improvement, improving customer satisfaction, reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and eliminating variation in manufacturing processes. Candidates for this position should have energy and passion to improve both our production and functional processes while leading with integrity. Candidates for this role should have a strong technical aptitude, willingness to learn in a hands-on environment and have a strong bias for action.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a Process Engineer in our Bayport plant, supporting multiple coating lines, responding to day to day production needs such as equipment troubleshooting and quality concerns
  • Partner with operations, RD&I, quality, maintenance, and supply chain functions to drive improvements within the value-stream through new process and technology development
  • Use a science-based approach and tools to solve complex technical problems with practical solutions (i.e., design of experiments, process mapping, process capability analysis, pugh matrix, FMEA, etc.)
  • Develop and execute improvements in alignment with strategic vision of modernizing equipment, people, and processes
  • Manage the design, procurement, and startup of capital equipment projects
  • Travel as needed within the USA. Up to 10% travel
  • Effectively communicate at all levels of internal and external customers

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4 year degree in Engineering (chemical engineering preferred)
  • Open to varying levels of experience, prefer 3+ years coating process engineering experience
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated track record of scientific and data-based problem-solving skills
  • Equipment procurement experience preferred
  • Strong project management skills
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, SPC, and process capability

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
