Postdoctoral Scholar Position in Bioinformatics - Scumpia Lab 2023-2024

The Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is currently recruiting for a full-time postdoctoral position.

This position is available immediately in the Scumpia Laboratory, which is focused on cutaneous systems biology research in the following thematic areas:

* Combining RNA-seq, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-seq (including single cell approaches) datasets with transgenic mice and murine models of human disease to obtain mechanistic insights into cells and molecular pathways into skin disease.

* Understand the mechanisms of skin fibrosis, regeneration, or inflammation using integrated genomic technologies and cells from transgenic/KO mice.

We are affiliated with the following departments at UCLA:

* Department of Medicine/Division of Dermatology

* Department of Bioengineering

* UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (Tumor Cell Biology Program)

The ideal candidates must have experience with:

* RNA expression profiles, molecular pathway analysis (GO, GSEA, etc.)

* Cell to cell interactions

* Tools for handling large data sets

Interested individuals should have:

* Experience with analysis of highly parallel sequencing data: R, A plus, or other coding language but may be acquired via training by our current postdoctoral fellow.

* Fluency in English and strong written and oral communication skills: Prerequisites

* Permanent U.S. residency or citizenship: Not required

* At least one first-authored publication in a peer-reviewed journal

* A Ph.D. is required

A Ph.D. is required. Candidate should also have at least one first-authored publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
