ASSISTANT VP, LABOR RELATIONS

Montefiore is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Employee and Labor Relations to assist with the oversight of the function at all campuses and off- site facilities, serving as a key spokesperson and negotiator for several selected collective bargaining agreements.

This individual will report to Vice President, Employee and Labor Relations and will join a robust department of ten to twelve employees.

Key Responsibilities include:

* Negotiating and interpreting collective bargaining agreements

* Establishing and maintaining positive and effective relationships with collective bargaining units

* Developing negotiation strategies

* Training managers in proper protocols

* Participating in dispute resolution to avoid expensive litigation, strikes and other business disruptions

* Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will have a proven progressive management track record in Human Resources specializing in labor and employee relations issues including union contract negotiations and grievance hearings. A JD degree is required. Candidates must have strong analytic, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills and be proactive and visionary. Healthcare background necessary.
