Prepares and maintains complete and systematic set of records of hospital financial transactions, and coordinates the preparation of formal financial statements. Responsibilities involve preparing reports on and maintaining records of financial transactions, preparing schedules and otherwise assisting with data needs for annual audit, and responding to general financial data requests.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Staff Accountant will be responsible performing certain special projects and month-end tasks, including but not limited to:

  1. Prepare cash, various expense reclasses and other journal entries in accordance with GAAP and maintain various account reconciliations.
  2. Ensure transactions are in accordance with GAAP and internal policies and procedures are followed and communicate exceptions to management.
  3. Perform monthly P&L flux analysis and investigate questions from other departments.
  4. Perform monthly credit card receivable reconciliation.
  5. Perform daily unapplied reconciliation.
  6. Coordinate with the various locations regarding credit card machine use, and armored car delivery.

REQUIRED:

  1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with people of all levels inside and outside of the department.
  3. Highly skilled in the use of Excel.
  4. Detail-oriented and able to persistently work productively on a task to completion.
  5. Able to demonstrate attention to details and good record keeping.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  7. Willing to offer assistance, even when the project is beyond the scope of regular assigned duties.

PREFERRED:

  1. Two (2) years prior accounting experience.
