Prepares and maintains 2D detailed drawings and 3D CAD models of components, assemblies, finished goods, tooling and machines. Works with engineers to coordinate and facilitate engineering changes. Reviews drawings and models to ensure proper practices are followed per drafting and engineering procedures while emphasizing and maintaining accuracy and consistency.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Prepares 2D drawings and 3D models of components, assemblies, finished goods, tooling and machines.
  2. Responsible for ensuring proper practices are followed per drafting and engineering procedures.
  3. Responsible for the maintenance and storage of 2D and 3D CAD files.
  4. Coordinates with engineering team to make necessary updates and changes to existing 2D and 3D CAD files.
  5. Works with Product Engineering on design and development of new products and their components.
  6. Works with Manufacturing Engineering on design and development of new machines, manufacturing processes and necessary tooling.
  7. Works with outside vendors to design and maintain production quality components.
  8. Provide support and answer CAD related questions.
  9. Keeps work area clean and organized.
  10. Is compliant with all safety regulations and procedures required by organization.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:

Required: High school education with courses in mathematics, shop practices, and drafting. Also, two years
experience in drafting.

Preferred: Associate's degree with coursework in mechanical CAD studies or equivalent coursework with two years industry experience. Knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, design, mathematics, shop practices, production layout.

Special Equipment or other requirements:

Knowledgeable in the operation of office software including Microsoft Office and Windows. Ability to understand workflow routings, Product Lifecycle Management and be proficient in file management. Able to balance work load and prioritize to ensure projects are completed in an efficient manner. Able to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometer and caliper and read and understand industry manuals and guides.
