Description
The Safe Kids Worldwide (SKW) network is the heart of the organization and what makes it unique in the injury prevention community. The Network Manager serves as the principle liaison between SKW and the U.S. coalition network by ensuring the coalitions have the tools they need to provide education and awareness, as well as engage in advocacy, to prevent childhood injury. Reports to the Chief Advocacy and Network Officer (CANO) to develop a vision for the U.S. network, including but not limited to:
1) its organizational structure, 2) its methods of communicating with SKW and with each other, 3) how the customer service delivery system is improved and maximized, and 4) development of a sustainable continuing education program. At the same time, keeps coalitions informed about SKW's latest campaigns, continuing education opportunities, assets and other matters, and provides guidance on maintaining a 'good standing' status. The manager contributes to SKW policies, initiatives, activities, education and events affecting coalition capacity and growth. Possesses the personality traits to build the morale of individuals and organizations, and provide first-class customer service. The Network Manager represents the coalitions' perspective and needs to SKW. S/he must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are essential, and possess a proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be willing to travel. The Network Manager will serve as an advocate for and liaison between Safe Kids Worldwide and the network by representing the coalitions' perspective and needs to SKW, while at the same time recognizing the imperatives of the Safe Kids strategic plan and 'business needs'. Responsible for conveying the policies and decisions of the organization to the coalition network. The manager engages in special projects associated with the optimum value of the network at his/her own initiation or at the direction of the President and/or CANO. Qualifications
Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree (Required) Master's Degree (Preferred) Minimum Work Experience 5 years At least 2-4 years of experience working in non-profits, grassroots organizing, or similar experience. (Required) Required Skills/Knowledge Specific experience with program management, grassroots organizing, coalition-building, grant management or other related non-profit activities strongly preferred; Demonstrated initiative and creativity towards building a grassroots network; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Strong people skills; Strong problem solving, strategic and analytical ability; Demonstrated skill in negotiating issues between people and organizations, including contracts and similar processes; Detail-oriented individual with the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments and communicate at multiple management and staff levels; Must be able to manage projects and be respectful of deadlines and adhere to time lines; Must be able to provide updates, status and completion information to manager, problem request tracking system, and/or users, via voice mail, e-mail or in-person communication; Capacity to develop skills to be a strong, motivating speaker; Strong organizational skills.
