JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Eberly College of Science Office of Diversity and Inclusion seeks to hire two Learning Assistants (LAs) for the six-week RiSE UP (Representation in Science at Eberly for Undergraduate Prehealth Students) summer program atthe University Park campus from June 22 to July 27.LAs are undergraduates, primarily in mathematics and the sciences, who will facilitate learning in interactive classroom environments. The summer bridge program provides LA opportunities to undergraduates interested inbeing part of a collaborative instructional team and sharing their excitement for chemistry. Learning Assistants facilitate in-class small-group activities and act as mentors for the students. JobRequirements: - Good academic standing and enrolled in the Eberly College of Science or the College of Agricultural Sciences - Completed SC 220 - Principles and Strategies for Effective STEM Learning - Has previous experience as an LA for chemistry - Available for at least six hours per week including in person Monday through Thursday 3:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Pennsylvania State University is committed to and accountable for advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability in all of its forms.
