New Brunswick, NJ The Child Health Institute of New Jersey and the Division of Child Neurology and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, Department of Pediatrics at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School are recruiting a part-time (0.5FTE), co-terminus, Assistant Professor, Research Track who will conduct specialized research for a period of 12 months, and will also have the responsibility of fostering increased scientific interactions and collaborations between the Child Health Institute of New Jersey and the Division of Child Neurology and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. The candidate will conduct highly specialized and technical research to advance an NIH BRAIN Initiative-funded project on developing genetically encoded optical sensors for detecting endogenous neuropeptide release. The candidate will utilize a wide array of applied techniques including primary cell culture, live brain slices, stereotaxic injections, patch clamp electrophysiology (double patch-clamp recordings) as well as in vivo imaging in live animals. The candidate will also assist in efforts related to the generation and submission of peer-reviewed journal manuscripts and grant proposals. Experience in all of these areas is required. Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree, outstanding academic credentials and a track record of research accomplishment.
