Posting Summary |
Rutgers University-Camden seeks Early Childhood Teachers. These positions will report to the Assistant Director/Supervisor of the Early Learning Research Academy. The Pre-K Teacher will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a classroom environment that utilizes space, materials, routines, and guidance techniques to effectively facilitate physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of the children. |

Preferred Qualifications |
* Mastery of immersion instruction, with strong talent in "sheltered" delivery and scaffolding of subject-area content
* Training in balanced literacy and early childhood development preferred.
* Knowledge of child development theory and practice.
* Knowledge of applicable safety procedures.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide
* range of constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to evaluate, design, and implement curriculum, testing, and/or teaching methodologies.
* Ability to provide activities for children that encourage healthy growth.
* Ability to exercise control and maintain classroom discipline.
* Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
* Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred. |

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
