JOB SUMMARY:

The Medication Access Coordinator is a collaborative agent that helps to access, plan, implement, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the options and services needed to ensure positive healthcare outcomes. The position will implement and maintain drug reimbursement to ensure full utilization of all available programs to ensure patients receive medications, have positive health outcomes and maximize GHS savings and revenue. Will compile, prepare and communicate to appropriate members of the health care team monthly reports. Will also utilize the pharmacy information system, electronic medical record and the financial information system to input, retrieve, and/or display patient information and pharmacy profile information.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED is required.

Associate's Degree from Pharmacy Technician Program preferred.

CPht preferred.

Three (3) years' experience as Patient Assistance Analyst or retail Pharmacy Technician.

Five (5) years' experience as Patient Assistance Analyst or retail Pharmacy Technician preferred.

Must be proficient in the use of personal computers, with experience in Microsoft Office Applications (notably Excel), and Access database applications.

Must possess strong organizational skills and the ability to generate and thoroughly analyze reports.

Must understand medical terminology.

Experience writing progress notes in the medical record preferred.
