JOB MISSION:

Under the supervision of the Facilities Manager, perform electrical maintenance on buildings and equipment. Plan and design electrical work in conjunction with any NB construction projects. Repair manufacturing machinery and other electrical systems.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Perform electrical preventive maintenance of NB facility and equipment on systems up to 480 volts in. Travel to other NB locations as needed to assist with repairs or installations.
  • Review work requests for feasibility. Propose design changes, determine material requirements, obtain costs from vendors, and provide a labor time estimate to Facilities Manager.
  • Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical/mechanical systems of building and equipment to applicable codes. Fill out and submit electrical permit applications for general wiring and projects.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies
  • Oversee the workmanship of outside contractors.
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with carpentry, masonry, plumbing and mechanical work as needed. In coordination with the Facilities Supervisor and Planner, perform scheduled work with the Maintenance Technician team.
  • Move material as necessary in performance of duties or as directed.
  • Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations including lockout/tagout procedures. Maintain quality standards.
  • Respond to "on call" duties in case of emergencies. Operate computerized Energy Management System.
  • May perform additional related duties as required

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • Licensed electrician: Master electrician license with 3 years of electrical work experience OR Journeyman Electrician with 5-8 years in a manufacturing environment or strong proficiencies in Plant Maintenance
  • Mechanical skills, Carpentry, Masonry, and Plumbing.
  • Physical ability to lift moderate to heavy weight and climb ladders.
  • This position requires movement throughout the facility.
