We are currently seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer for our Miami District with experience specific to the design and/or construction of residential and/or commercial buildings to assist in the determination of the cause, origin and extent of construction defects, structural failures, water intrusions and other failures. An understanding and proficiency of installation standards, practices and procedures within the building construction industry is essential.

Duties in this key position involve the investigation and analysis of residential, commercial and industrial properties for the purpose of resolving claims and legal matters. - Assignments may include contract disputes, installation deficiencies, material deficiencies, site evaluations, settlement investigations, structural assessments, and vibration analyses. - Duties include gathering photographic evidence, conducting investigations to document on-site conditions, overseeing field-testing and reviewing historical documentation. - Preparation of oral and written reports to document the causes of failure, extent of loss, associated repair scope and recommended remediation are essential as is providing opinions and expert testimony in litigation matters.

Requirements:

- Ability to initiate, develop and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships.

- Bachelors Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering. Masters Degree. preferred.

- 10 years minimum experience.

- PE License in Florida, required.

- NCEES record, preferred.

- Must be able to train in the Fort Lauderdale areas. Training is approximately 3 months.

- Bilingual (English-Spanish) is desired.

- Testimony experience, required.

- Experience handling litigation/investigation, required.

- Knowledge of fundamental architectural and/or engineering principles, construction and building component assemblies.

- The ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing to clients and other involved parties the details of the projects engineering/architectural issues.

- Must be willing to travel . - Milage paid along with expenses for overnight travel.

- Valid Drivers' License and reliable transportation, required.

- Must be able to life up to 50 pounds and able to perform inspections in confined spaces.

- Must be able to inspect building roof structures.

The Salary Range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 and is dependent on education, experience, location and certifications/licensure.
