Job Summary:
The Department of Educational Policy Studies seeks a candidate who will contribute to the department's multi-disciplinary expertise. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of established research and scholarship, as well as undergraduate and graduate teaching, in the sociology of education. Candidates should have a nationally recognized record of research, publication, teaching, and service that meets the criteria for a tenured Associate or Full Professor position at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Responsibilities: The individual hired for the position is expected to conduct original research and generate scholarly publications sufficient for a tenured appointment at a major research university; develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in educational policy studies, with a focus on sociology of education; supervise and serve on the committees of Master's and Doctoral candidates; serve on departmental, School of Education, and university committees; provide departmental leadership; and engage in professional service at the university, local, regional, national, and/or international level commensurate with their appointment level. Candidates for this position should have demonstrated ability and commitment to mentoring at-risk, first-generation, and/or underrepresented undergraduate or graduate students to help them achieve academic success.
