MA/PSA Scribe - Internal Medicine

Position Highlights:

  • Position: MA/PSA Scribe
  • Location: Evanston, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 7am - 6pm; Saturday 8am - 12pm
  • Required Travel: N/A

What you will do:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our healthcare team as a Medical Assistant/Patient Services Associate/Scribe. This multifaceted role is crucial in ensuring efficient patient care and smooth office operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Visit Preparation:

Conduct outreach and confirm completion of pre-visit labs

Rooming:

Prepare medication history and perform reconciliation

Populate care team information

Assist patients with PEQ (Patient Experience Questionnaire) completion

Record vitals and chief complaints

Initiate the agenda for each visit

Address health maintenance issues and Best Practice Advisories (BPAs)

Prepare potential orders and referrals for review

Clinical Support:

Perform scribing duties during patient visits

Administer immunizations as directed

Perform EKGs as directed

Work collaboratively with the nursing team to manage and respond to patient calls and messages

Ensure timely and appropriate communication with patients regarding their inquiries and concerns

Post-Visit Tasks:

Review After Visit Summary (AVS) with patients

Schedule follow-up tests and visits

Confirm patient understanding of care instructions

What you will need:

  • Education: High School Required
  • Certification: CPR certification through the American Heart Association required; Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience: Experience in scribing preferred
  • Unique or Preferred Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
    • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
    • Experience in scribing preferred
