GRADE: 19 Position Summary
Reporting to Sr. Director PG Central Support, the Boiler Technologies Principle provides strategic and technical leadership, oversight and management for CPS Energy's boiler and heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) technologies. Assists executive leaders, plant teams and central support teams in overseeing and ensuring the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of boiler and HRSG systems. Works closely with other boiler and HRSG experts in industry to bring best practices into CPS Energy's operations and maintenance strategies. Tasks and Responsibilities
Minimum Skills Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Experience maintaining and/or operating power plants.
Management and Executive or Technical leadership experience.
Valid Texas Driver's License with a history of a safe driving record in accordance with CPS policies, procedures, safety standards, and applicable laws and regulations or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire a valid Texas Driver's License.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, and presentations.
Ability to use the plant historian and other operating/monitoring/control systems.
Proactive, collaborative leadership style with ability to identify risks and problem solve solutions.
Ability to achieve operational and maintenance objectives by developing strategic plans and reviews; prepares and completes action plans; resolves problems; completes audits; identifies trends; and implements change.
Ability to reconcile ambiguous situations and drive initiatives to successful conclusion.
Experienced workforce leader skilled in teambuilding and performance management.
Demonstrated experience successfully overseeing power plant operations, maintenance or overhaul.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
Demonstrated ability to oversee and manage multiple concurrent activities in a highly dynamic environment that requires continuous reprioritization as determined by operational and maintenance situations as they arise.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Package, including word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation software, electronic mail and scheduling.
Ability to read, understand and use drawings, specifications and regulatory statutes and references.
Familiar with electrical, mechanical, controls, instrumentation, and civil components and equipment including but not limited to: high pressure steam boilers & HRSG's.

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering OR related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience working with boilers & HRSG's. Required Certifications Working Environment
The employee will regularly work in a standard office setting w/ standard office equip, including a phone, computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail, despite interruptions, vision to read printed materials & a comp screen for long period of time.
Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The employee will routinely travel to various power plant sites in Texas. While at the plant, the employee will work in an office environment and within the protected area.
This will include exposure to outside weather conditions that vary seasonal but can be hot and humid.
The employee monitor and oversee plant operations and be exposed to rotating mechanical parts and may be exposed to toxic;
or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, potential risk of electrical shock and radiation and radioactive contamination requiring the use of personal protective equipment and engineering controls to avoid exposure or injury. Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to climb stairs, ladders, and work at heights on elevated platforms. Must be able to stand for long periods of time, operate devices, tools, or controls, & reach w/ hands & arms.
Must be willing to tolerate awkward and stretched positions while stooping, crouching, or kneeling. Must be able to lift 25 pounds overhead and 30 pounds from the floor to 36 inches.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color distinction with vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Noise levels are moderately loud and may vary in various areas of the plant site. Must be able to work around high voltage. Must have manual dexterity and ability to efficiently manipulate keyboards.
