Manager Notes:

EE Team - team is responsible for electrical design, quoting, and drawings of all projects. Team supports production during assembly to answer questions on design/installation. Responsible for testing completed projects and communicating with production/quality control on future improvements. Will initially focus on testing and supporting production to ensure correct installations. Will also support EE team with day-to-day tasks. Role will be 70% production and 30% office based - production will be at our new Burnham location (4101 W Burnham). We will provide ample training/support to this individual and help evolve your role as your interests develop and company needs change. Must be team-centric and willing to learn. Must be open to helping wherever needs and tackling a variety of different tasks for the team.

Overview:

Global Power Components is a privately held, financially sound, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. As a result of our continuing expansion and continued organizational growth, we are looking for a motivated Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Test complex assemblies of low voltage (up to 480VAC) power circuits, control circuits, and ancillary systems.
  • Create and organize thorough testing reports and pretest safety documentation.
  • Provide feedback on design issues and continuous improvement plans.
  • Train members of the production team on best practices to mitigate commonly found installation issues.
  • Identify opportunities to prebuild assemblies to aid in production efficiency.
  • Work safely and demonstrate a safety-first mindset to those around you.
  • Proper care, use, and storage of company supplied tools and equipment.



Qualifications:

  • 3+ years' experience in commercial or industrial electrical experience required.
  • Journeyman Electrician License preferred.
  • Proficient in conduit bending, wire installation and terminations, troubleshooting, and use of electrical testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and blueprints.
  • Valid driver's license
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must pass competency test and pre-employment physical including drug screen
  • Willingness to train less experienced coworkers.
