Positions available and qualifications: Registered Nurse:

Summary: Responsible for the planning, delivery and management of direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

1. Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.

2. BLS is a requirement for every RN unless advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.

Preferred:

1. Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.

Experience/Skills:

Required:

1. Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.

Registered Nurse, Home Health and Hospice:

Summary: The Home Health & Hospice RN (HHHRN) provides care to patients who are in need of care in their homes. Home health & hospice nursing practice considers the needs of the patient, their family and/or the patient's caregivers. The HHHRN provides care to patients across the lifespan, from prenatal to post-death periods. Home health nursing takes a holistic approach to personal health practices when treating diseases or disabilities. The practice embraces primary, secondary and tertiary prevention; assisting patients and families to coordinate community resources and health insurance benefits as well as hands on delivery of nursing services in the patient's home.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:
Required:

1. Diploma or associate's degree in nursing.
2. Valid and unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
3. Valid and unrestricted driver's license recognized by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and access to a reliable, insured vehicle.

Preferred:
1. Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Nursing.
2. Specialty nursing certification as a home health nurse, hospice and palliative care nurse or case manager.
3. Completion of the Certified Oasis Specialist certificate.

Registered Nurse, Endoscopy:

Summary: Responsible for the planning, delivery and management of direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and adhering to the standards of nursing practice.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

1. Currently registered by the Board of Registration in Nursing for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
2. BLS is a requirement for every RN unless an advance certification is current (ex ACLS, PALS, NRP). In addition, unit specific certification and competencies are defined in the Unit Profile.
Preferred:
1. BSN.
2. GI certification.

Experience/Skills:

Required:
1. Strong interpersonal skills are required to gather information, build relationships that support collaborative work in the department and across the organization while providing exceptional service to patients.

PCA I:

Summary: Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, this position performs a variety of patient care activities to meet the personal needs and comfort of patients. Responsible to the Nurse Director and/or designee of the patient care unit assigned.

Position Qualifications:

License/Certification/Education:

Required:

1. High School Diploma/GED.

2. Current Basic Life Support Certification (some positions will allow for BLS within 30 days of hire).

Preferred:

1. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Experience/Skills:

Required:

1. Must possess the following skills: reading, writing, and simple mathematical calculations.

2. Good interpersonal skills.

3. Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups.

4. Integrity and flexibility.

5. Ability to communicate effectively verbally, if necessary.

6. Manual dexterity required to perform tests and to complete treatments.

7. Ability to understand and follow through on instructions.

Preferred:

1. Recent sub-acute or acute care patient care assistant experience.

PCA II:

Summary: Under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN) and in keeping with unit specific standards, provides patient care to meet the personal needs and comfort of patients; and assists members of the health care team.

Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:

Required:
1. Minimum of a high school education or GED.
2. Current CNA or EMT license or Certified Medical Assistant is preferred, and one of the following qualifications is REQUIRED:
a. Prior clinical experience or acute care training, or
b. Nursing student who has completed at least one clinical rotation, or
c. One year of experience as a PCA I - Inpatient and has completed all unit based competency requirements.
3. Current Basic Life Support or Heart Saver certification

Experience/Skills:

Required:
1. Ability to read, write and communicate in English in a clear and concise manner.
2. Must utilize proper safety techniques and body mechanics in all work-related activities.
3. Strong interpersonal skills to gather information from individuals, build relationships that support collaborative work within the department and across the organization and provide exceptional service to patients.
4. Proven interpersonal skills to provide respectful, culturally and age appropriate communication with patients, staff, family, visitors and others.
5. Must have proven problem-solving abilities for routine situations and requests assistance from identified resources when more direction is needed.

LPN:

Summary: The staff Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), under the supervision of the Nurse Director or designee, is responsible for the nursing care of assigned patients, and to prescribe, delegate and coordinate the patient care administered by staff. Included in such responsibility is the goal of assisting patients to move as rapidly, uneventfully and safely through their hospitalization period.

1. Graduation and training from an accredited school of nursing with current license by the Massachusetts B.O.R.N. American Heart Association or equivalent B.L.S. certification for health care provider required upon hire or during orientation.

Experience/Skills:
Preferred:
1. A minimum of one year of general medical-surgical experience is preferred.
