Summary of Job Duties:The successful candidate will have responsibilities in the standard three areas for tenure-track faculty members. Teaching duties will be consistent with load standards at UA Pine Bluff and include both undergraduate and graduate classes. The candidate will be expected to develop and maintain a strong program of research including publication in refereed journals and conferences and pursue external research funding. Service to the university will include serving on committees within the department, the college, or the university as well as providing service to the pertinent academic disciplines. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Ph.D. or a Ph.D. candidate, in a discipline deemed by the employer pertinent to cybersecurity.
  • Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the qualification listed above

.Preferred Education and/or Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering or discipline pertinent to cybersecurity and R&D experience in cybersecurity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop curriculum and new modes of instruction;
  • Teach effectively in classroom and lab settings;
  • Establish and sustain independent research;
  • Produce scholarly publications in leading scientific journals;
  • Present at major conferences;
  • Work with major funding agencies;
  • Secure external funding;
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate students;
  • Participate in and contribute to major professional societies;
  • Participate in shared faculty governance and departmental committees;
  • Contribute through research, teaching, and service to the diversity and excellence of the learning experience in order to train the next generation of computer scientists;
  • Foster relationships with representatives of the Central Arkansas cybersecurity industry;
  • Perform other duties as needed in the department, college, and university.

  • Work and educational experience are clearly predictive of a successful academic career in cybersecurity teaching and research.
